About Later Life Health
Later Life Health is an independent editorial site about health products for adults over 50. We read labels, check ingredient research, and write reviews that include the reasons not to buy.
Why this site exists
The health content aimed at people over 50 is largely written by copywriters selling a single product. Claims get inflated, dosage details disappear, and the section explaining who the product is wrong for never gets written.
We wanted the opposite: a page you can read in ten minutes and come away knowing what the product contains, what the evidence actually supports, what it costs per day, and how the refund really works. Sometimes that means recommending something cheaper. Sometimes it means saying the category is overpriced.
Who we are
We are a small editorial team, not a medical practice. We are not physicians, and we do not present ourselves as such. What we do is research: primary studies, regulator guidance, manufacturer documentation and refund terms, and the published criticism of each.
We do not use invented author personas, fake medical reviewers, or stock photos of people pretending to be our staff. If a page says it was written by the editorial team, that is literally who wrote it.
How we work
- Read the label first. Named ingredients and disclosed doses, before any marketing claim.
- Separate ingredient evidence from product evidence. A studied herb does not make a studied capsule.
- Read the refund policy in full. Conditions, deadlines, who pays return shipping.
- Calculate cost per day, including shipping, rather than quoting a headline bottle price.
- Write the “who should not buy” section before the conclusion, so the conclusion has to survive it.
How we make money
Through affiliate commissions. When you buy a product through one of our links, the retailer pays us a percentage. It costs you nothing extra.
No manufacturer pays for a placement, a ranking or a favourable sentence, and none of them see our pages before publication. Our full affiliate disclosure explains the arrangement, including what we do when the honest answer costs us a commission.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes, and product pages change under us. If you spot an error — a dose, a price, a refund condition — tell us. We correct factual errors and note the date of the change.
